Predictive Profiling training at Cocoon

Predictive Profiling is a training method that teaches employees to recognize deviant behavior before it escalates into an incident. The foundation is establishing normal behavior: what is customary in this environment, at this time, among these people? Only when this baseline is clearly defined does a deviation from it become noticeable.

At Cocoon, the training is explicitly practical and tailored to your specific location. Participants step into the shoes of a malicious actor to learn to view situations from their perspective, and practice deterrence: making it visible that someone has been noticed, which often prevents a malicious actor from carrying out their plan. Additionally, they learn security questioning, asking open, clarifying questions without direct confrontation. A practical component with professional training actors makes the theory tangible: actors play credible roles, from an ordinary visitor to a targeted malicious actor.

Training Predictive Profiling Cocoon

Who is this training for?

The training is intended for security personnel, reception and front desk staff, messengers, and control room personnel at organizations with high public traffic, such as courthouses, banks, and other high-profile locations. Precisely within this target group, intuition is often ignored in practice due to time pressure, habituation, or the belief that nothing ever happens. Predictive Profiling provides a method and a language for that gut feeling.

Participants develop a sharper eye for their surroundings and learn to link behavioral indicators to concrete choices: whether or not to act, and if so, how. Because a malicious actor realizes they have been noticed, their planning cycle is disrupted; a timely detected deviation often prevents an incident before it even occurs. The result is a measurable increase in awareness, self-confidence, and assertive action.

Why choose Cocoon

While many providers offer Predictive Profiling as a generic, multi-day certification, Cocoon aligns the training with the practice of your own organization. Our trainers combine the methodology with knowledge from physical audits, mystery visits, and red teaming assignments, ensuring that scenarios are recognizable to participants and directly connect to the threat profile of their specific location.

A malicious actor who knows they have been seen changes their plan.

Predictive Profiling combines well with a broader approach: as part of a security awareness program, or as a follow-up step after a Mystery Visit or walk-through test that revealed deviant behavior was not noticed.

  • Training actors for realistic, recognizable scenarios
  • Trainers with practical experience from audits, mystery visits, and red teaming
  • Directly tailored to your specific location and target audience

Cocoon works for reputable (publicly traded) companies in profit and non-profit environments; references available upon request.

Frequently asked questions

  • How Much Does the Predictive Profiling Training Cost?

Pricing is determined by group size, duration, and the inclusion of a practical component with training actors. Following a brief consultation, we will provide a tailored quote.

  • How much time does the training take?

That depends on the group size and the desired practical component involving training actors. During the intake, we will collaborate to design a program that fits your team and schedule.

  • Is a certificate provided upon completion of the training?

Cocoon primarily focuses the training on practical application within your own organization rather than external certification. Should you require a recognized certificate, such as Register Predictive Profiling, we will discuss the available options during the intake process.

  • What is the Difference Between Predictive Profiling and Aggression Reduction & Communication?

Predictive Profiling focuses on the early identification of deviant behavior, before a situation escalates. Aggression Reduction & Communication takes it a step further: this training teaches employees to de-escalate tension the moment it becomes perceptible.

  • Who is this training for?

For security personnel, reception and front desk staff, ushers, and dispatchers, particularly at organizations with high public traffic such as courthouses, banks, and other high-profile locations.

  • Do you use professional role-players?

Yes. The practical component is conducted with professional role-players who portray credible roles, from a regular visitor to a targeted malicious actor. This makes the exercise realistic without creating any actual risk.
